Ah ssss PUSH IT. PUSH AWP REAL GOOD.

Our severe lateness in putting up this recap post can be explained by the fact that the Quickies! AWP Spectacular blew our minds and we've just waken from the coma. Every. single. reader. was. amazing. To wit:

Mascot Toby Bengelsdorf, reading from the Quickies! Observer

Sean Lovelace (we stole this photo from Sean's blog. We were so flabbergasted by his story we forgot to take a picture. But here he is with Kim Chinquee!)

Robert Lopez (we didn't get a picture of him reading, but here's video of him reading. Uh, at a different event. Buy his book.)

Bitchface McGee

Joe Salvatore (if I had a dime for how many people came up to me to say how much they loved this story, I'd have a shitload of dimes)

Seriously. It's great to have our motor skills back, but it was all worth it to be able to witness and be a part of such a lineup. Thanks to all the readers, and thanks to the audience, who braved an extremely crowded sweat lodge in order to hear some great short fiction:

And last but not least, thanks to these guys:

See you in March (our year anniversary)!

Lick him like a lollipop should be licked Came to my senses and JANET DESAULNIERS chilled for a bit

JANET DESAULNIERS

Janet Desaulniers published a collection of stories called What You've Been Missing. She's finishing a book of miniatures called The Last American Novel and starting a memoir about teaching & writing & death. An excerpt, Murderer, is forthcoming in the Seattle Review. She is right now walking and typing this at her treadmill desk, which is her current best thing.
